Profile

Dr Hayley Chen is a compassionate geriatrician who prioritises a patient and family

centred approach in all aspects of care.

After graduating with a Doctor of Medicine (with Distinction) from the University of Melbourne, Dr Chen completed her physician training and geriatric fellowship in Brisbane (training across the Royal Brisbane and Women’s, Princess Alexandra, Ipswich, Mater, Logan and Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospitals).

Dr Chen is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and currently holds a staff specialist appointment at Logan Hospital. She has a keen interest in sharing local research and translating this into clinical practice to advance geriatric care, presenting at national conferences and publishing in several peer reviewed journals. Dr Chen is also passionate about the supervision, mentorship and education of the next generation of junior doctors, having held leadership positions within the Australian & New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and currently holding a senior lecturer position at Griffith University.

Dr Chen’s special interests include delirium and dementia care, falls assessment and management, advanced care planning and polypharmacy, having previously completed an undergraduate pharmacy degree with experience as a clinical pharmacist. She is excited to bring her expertise and holistic approach to care to Sunnybank.
